
40-hour Hazardous Waste Training - 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)
The 40-hour course complies with 29CFR1910.120(e)(3), the Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response standard. The course includes significant hands-on training, lectures and in-depth discussions assist students in complying with OSHA and CERCLA regulations, which require a minimum of 40 hours of off-site initial health and safety instruction for those involved in hazardous waste operations.
The program includes activity based and competency based assessments. Students must complete the 40-hour course in its entirety. Students must also successfully complete the hands-on training sessions, and achieve competency in those skills. These include PPE dress out; Air monitoring instrument use; and developing health and safety plans.
